Your self-worth is determined by you. You don’t have to depend on someone telling you who you are. – Beyonce KnowlesSo you lost your job, or you don’t have money in your account or maybe you’ve messed up and not stepped up … I don’t care what your story is, staying down is not an option. You fall 1000 times, you make a 100 mistakes, it is up to you to right your course and try again. Yes YOU Can, right here, right now. How do I know that? Well because I am convinced there is no one on earth who was born to fail. Let me define what failure means to me: Failure isn’t about not succeeding at something. Failure, in my mind only becomes your reality if you decide to make it so. When you stop fighting for a better you, a better state of being; when you accept defeat and stop trying, that is when you fail. But that is not who you are. That is not who you should be. I meet people often who are stuck in a rut because their ambitions and dreams have been trampled upon by others. People who have let conformity rule their lives because they are too afraid to shine. Dreamers that never gave themselves a chance. I have met people who were too afraid to speak up and stand up for themselves because they did not want to ‘rock the boat’, as a result others took advantage and stepped on them. If you are one of those people that are down or that have been put down, please start today and reject the idea of staying down. You should not live your life as a spectator at the sidelines too afraid of getting into the game. Embrace your power and jump right in. Falling is inevitable so welcome it. It is only by falling that you can develop the character you need, the wisdom you desire and the skills required to rise up to your full potential. In your life’s journey, I am sure you have had many opportunities to see setbacks as failure; many occasions to give up because that was the easy thing to do. And maybe you did give in, but I urge you to reject defeat. Failure is not an option and I believe we only fail when we stop fighting for a better state of being. You are no quitter! I want you to get angry. Get angry at all the times you have let individuals beat down your resolve; the times you’ve let others step on your ambitions. Get really angry at the times you have allowed small minded thinkers project their own insecurities and fears onto you. Don’t sit silently in the corner just so everyone else can feel comfortable while your inner self is screaming for freedom; screaming to jump up and face life boldly. There is no fast rule that you must blend in. We are all different and our Lives were not meant to be easy. I urge you to refuse to take the path of least resistance.
